We don't call our pet dogs "man's best friend" without a really good reason. They are faithful companions, and we often think of them as a much loved part of the family. Every year, we will spend a lot of money on expensive foods, veterinary visits and indulge them with the countless hours we spend exercising them. We will let them live in our houses and sit on our furniture. And while we know that they will sleep anywhere they can find, why not get them the most comfortable dog beds that we can?
Waterproof Beds
Even when it is wet and miserable outside, our dogs need their exercise and we all often come back from walks dripping wet. Even with the best towel dry, they will still have some moisture left on their coats. This is where waterproof dog cushions come in. Your dog can go and lie down on its favorite bed without ruining it when they are wet. Even after they have had a bath, they can lie down on their bed to recover without making a mess everywhere. Some breeds of dog are happy to live their lives in an outside kennel, and a waterproof bed would make their life more comfortable-although it's important to remember to keep their sleeping area sheltered from the elements.
Comfortable Mattress
When you are looking to buy a new dog bed, you should look at beds with really comfortable mattresses. Beds come in a range of sizes designed to cover the smallest Chihuahua to the largest Great Dane, and usually have a nice thick mattress for your dog to sleep on. Whatever your breed of dog, make sure that the mattress material is tough enough to withstand its attention when it decides it wants to scratch or chew. Just in case, make sure you check it regularly for any areas where the seam is coming loose and replace it before your dog decides it likes the taste of the foam padding. Your life will be a lot easier, and the sleeping area smell a lot nicer if the outer covering can be removed for regular washing and drying.
Under the Covers
Just like humans, some dogs like to sleep under covers, especially when it is cold. You can now find a range of duvets and blankets to make their bed into a really cozy sleeping area for your dog. The next time that you shop for new covers for your dog, check that the material is thick enough to keep your dog warm and light enough for them to be able to pull it over themselves if they want to. It will make the dog's sleeping area smell a lot nicer and cleaning up after accidents a lot easier if the coverings will go through the washer and drier.
All dogs like to have a sleeping area that they can call their own. Whether that's inside your house, or in a sheltered outside kennel area, there are a range of dog beds that will suit your dog and give it their own territory where they can relax and feel safe and secure.
